Sweat Analysis Testing at Human Powered Health

What's Your Sweat Profile?

A Sweat Analysis is an evaluation of the composition of your sweat. You’ll learn the sodium concentration of your sweat and consult with a performance physiologist on how to optimize your unique hydration strategy. For example, someone who loses more sodium may need to consume more electrolytes to prevent cramping and maintain endurance, as well as to feel good while performing exercise.

In addition to measuring the composition of your sweat, the Exercise Sweat Test also measures the volume of your sweat while exercising, so we can help you create a hydration plan for intensive training or sports.

The days of guessing how much sodium you need, dealing with cramping, or over-hydrating are over. With precise sweat testing, you get clear, data driven answers on how to hydrate and fuel so you can perform with confidence in training days and on race day.

Exercise Sweat Test - How It's Done

We place a patch on your arm. Then, you run, bike, or do another appropriate exercise for approximately 60 minutes to generate sweat. The patch is then removed and analyzed, which takes about 1-2 minutes. Following the test, you’ll have a 30 minute consultation with a Master’s-level performance physiologist about your unique results and how to improve them.

How Often Should You Get A Sweat Analysis?

Your Sweat Analysis results can react to climate conditions, heat acclimation/training, and exercise intensity. Discuss your season schedule and travel plans with your physiologist to determine the ideal time to check your data.
