Precision Hydration's sweat analysis offers a deeper understanding of sweat sodium loss, without the need of physical exertion. With this data, we provide guidance on how to effectively replenish lost sodium through proper hydration and fueling techniques.

How Does a Precision Hydration Sweat Test Work?

You sit comfortably. We place two electrodes on the skin of your forearm. The electrodes are covered by discs that contain a small dose of Pilocarpine, which stimulates the sweat glands. Gentle currents of electricity slowly produce a painless, exertion-less sweat response at the point of contact (most people say it feels “tingly” or “prickly”), and then a collection nodule is placed to slowly absorb the sweat over 15-30 minutes until enough is collected for analysis.

Following the test, you’ll have a 30 minute consultation with a Master’s-level performance physiologist about your unique results and how to improve them.

How Often Should You Get A Sweat Analysis?

Your Sweat Analysis results can react to climate conditions, heat acclimation/training, and exercise intensity. Discuss your season schedule and travel plans with your physiologist to determine the ideal time to check your data.
