A Sweat Analysis is an evaluation of the composition of your sweat. We place a patch on your arm. Then, you run, bike, or do another appropriate exercise for approximately 60 minutes to generate sweat. You’ll learn the sodium concentration of your sweat and consult with a performance physiologist on how to optimize your unique hydration strategy.
A Lactate Threshold Test measures how your body responds to increasing exercise intensity, including how it burns fuel. You’ll complete a series of 3–4 minute stages, with each stage getting progressively harder. After each stage, a small blood sample is taken via fingerprick to assess lactate levels, and gas exchange data is collected to analyze how your body uses carbs and fat.
The assessments take approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, followed by a 30-minute data review with your performance physiologists to break down results and discuss key takeaways.
Sweat and Lactate Threshold testing can be done on a treadmill, bike or rowing machine. You can use your own bike on a Wahoo Kickr Trainer if you prefer. Equipment varies by location, so let us know how you prefer to test.
