Have you ever wondered, “Is my body responding well to training?” or “What should I be measuring with my running?” If so, we’ve got you covered!
Coach Chris Lundstrom and Human Powered Health have teamed up to offer a Free Running Performance Guide. Whether you’re new to running or a seasoned athlete, this guide provides five essential methods to track your performance and improve over time.
Chris Lundstrom, Head Coach of Minnesota Distance Elite, brings extensive experience from both his professional running career and over 18 years of coaching. With a Ph.D. in kinesiology, he’s helped countless runners achieve their best. Human Powered Health is the Official Performance Lab of Minnesota Distance Elite and Coach Chris has taken full advantage of the best-in-class assessments at our lab.
One of the most important steps in enhancing any aspect of training is to track progress. These five running metrics will not only help you monitor improvements but also create a roadmap for better performance.
The full Running Performance Guide explores the importance of these methods, explaining how to measure them and when they are most useful. Some can be done independently, while others may require a partner or access to a performance lab.
This guide is a great resource for anyone looking to improve their running performance, regardless of experience level. By utilizing these metrics, you’ll gain a better understanding of your training and how to optimize it.
Coach Chris Lundstrom brings a wealth of experience to both running and coaching. He currently coaches Dakotah Lindwurm, one of Minnesota Distance Elite’s runners, who qualified for the Olympic Games held in Paris this past summer. These metrics formed the foundation of Lindwurm’s training for the Olympics, where she finished 12th overall in the Women’s Marathon and was the fastest American in the race.
